Primary Function:
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist (HRG) will be an integral part of the human resources leadership team. The HRG will be responsible for or assist with a multitude of projects, including on-boarding, regulatory leave request review, unemployment and other duties as assigned. The HRG will also investigate general workplace complaints that do not fall under the jurisdiction of the EEO Office. The goal is to ensure the HR department's operations run smoothly and effectively, to deliver maximum value to the organization as a whole.

Monday Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Able to complete a comprehensive review of leave submissions, including VESSA, FMLA, and ADA for leave and accommodation determination and recommendation Ability to review and interpret current policies and procedures, as well as make suggestions to improve policies and procedures Interview complainants and witnesses identified in Human Resources complaints Report on the findings of investigations to Executive Level staff and make appropriate recommendations Collects and maintains HR data related to compensation, training, recruitment, etc. to help make recommendations for improvement Prepare salary surveys Prepare internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, or company policies Review HR and employee related forms to ensure forms are current and compliant, and all company related entities are using current and consistent forms, and make recommendations to HR Analyst for updates Assist with updating and maintaining Company Policy Handbook Responsible for routine HR correspondence Handle all duties related to building inquiries/concerns Provide orientation to new location team members Assist HR leadership with projects and assignments as needed Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience 2-3 years in a Human Resources role. Working knowledge of FMLA, with 2-3yrs of experience in reviewing paperwork, communicating with a medical provider and making determinations on leave eligibility High level of knowledge of all Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to multitask and prioritize under pressure in a fast-paced environment Exceptional organizational skills Excellent written, oral and presentation skills necessary to communicate and work effectively with upper-level management and executive team members
Preferred:
3-5 years in a Human Resources Generalist role, or equivalent Experience with Human Resources complaint investigations 1-3 years working on Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) submissions Work in the public sector Work with executive level staff
