Human Resources Generalist

HR Generalist PaliMex Distributors, Inc. - Itasca, IL Full-Time | Monday-Friday Job Overview PaliMex Distributors is seeking a dependable and hands-on HR Generalist to manage day-to-day human resources operations for our wholesale distribution company. This role supports payroll, recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, HR compliance, and benefits administration across warehouse, drivers, sales, and office teams. We are looking for someone who is organized, approachable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Manage recruiting process including job postings, screening, and interview coordination Conduct new hire onboarding and orientation Maintain employee records and HR documentation Serve as point of contact for employee HR questions and concerns Assist with employee relations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution Process payroll, activities, including reviewing time sheets, collecting required documentation, and preparing payroll reports Administer employee benefits and enrollment changes Track PTO, attendance, and leave requests Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Illinois labor laws Assist with employee performance reviews and HR initiatives Support workplace safety and HR policy implementation Assist with planning and coordinating company events such as the annual picnic, company lunches, and employee celebrations Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications 2+ years of Human Resources experience required Experience in distribution, logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferred Knowledge of HR compliance and employment laws Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to handle confidential information professionally Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Bilingual (English/Spanish) Compensation & Benefits $22/HR Health, Dental & Vision Insurance 401(k) Plan Paid Time Off Stable full-time position Work Location PaliMex Distributors, Inc. 1376 Industrial Dr Itasca, IL 60143
