Human Resources Generalist LifeChoice Hospice and Palliative Care Palatine, IL Full-Time | $75,000 to $80,000 per year LifeChoice Hospice and Palliative Care is looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist with direct hospice experience to support our employees and day-to-day HR operations. The focus is employee relations, onboarding, HR compliance, personnel files, policy administration, benefits support, and maintaining strong hospice-specific HR practices. We are looking for someone who already understands the hospice environment and can step into the role with confidence. What You'll Do Manage new-hire onboarding and orientation Maintain complete and survey-ready personnel files Track licenses, certifications, competencies, education, and required employee documentation Coordinate background checks, screenings, and other required employment records Maintain hospice-specific personnel compliance requirements Support employees with HR questions, policies, benefits, attendance, and workplace concerns Handle employee relations matters and assist with internal investigations Support corrective action, performance documentation, and employee counseling Assist with leave, accommodation, and return-to-work processes Help maintain and update company policies and the employee handbook Support compliance with federal, Illinois, and local employment requirements Prepare HR records for surveys, audits, and regulatory review Work with clinical and administrative leadership to ensure required employee training and documentation remain current Maintain confidentiality and accurate HR records Support employee retention and general HR operations What We're Looking For Hospice experience is required Previous HR Generalist or similar HR experience Strong understanding of hospice personnel and compliance requirements Experience with employee relations and workplace investigations Experience maintaining healthcare personnel files and regulatory documentation Knowledge of employment policies and general employment-law compliance Strong organizational and documentation skills Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive employee matters Able to work independently and follow through on multiple priorities Professional, approachable, and comfortable working with both employees and leadership Pay $75,000 to $80,000 per year , based on experience and qualifications.
