The HR Generalist provides broad HR support in a shared-services environment and will support tickets as assigned, be the point of contact of program shut-downs, audits, and serves as the in-house subject matter expert for ADA accommodations. The role partners closely with the organization's third-party administrator (TPA) for leave-of-absence administration, manages employee and manager inquiries through the HR ticketing system, supports compliance audits, and assists with workforce and organizational changes.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the internal liaison for leave-of-absence matters, partnering with employees, managers, HR, payroll, benefits, and the third-party administrator (TPA). Support TPA-administered leave programs, respond to leave-related inquiries, review reports, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate return-to-work, payroll, and benefits activities. Serve as the in-house subject matter expert for ADA accommodations; lead the interactive process, assess requests, coordinate approved accommodations, and maintain compliant confidential records. Manage and resolve employee and manager inquiries through the shared-services ticketing system, ensuring timely, accurate, and service-oriented support. Document and prioritize HR cases in accordance with service-level expectations; identify trends and recommend processes, training, and knowledge-based improvements. Provide general HR support related to policies, employee relations, performance management, benefits, onboarding, offboarding, and employee records. Support employee-relations matters, workplace investigations, policy administration, reporting, and employee communications. Assist with internal and external audits, compliance reviews, HR documentation, and workforce reporting. Support workforce reductions, restructurings, and other organizational changes, including employee communications, separation documentation, severance, benefits, and offboarding coordination. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements, including WARN Act considerations where applicable. Maintain regular and predictable attendance in accordance with the position's schedule and business needs. Utilize Valeris' values as the driving force behind the team's success. On time adherence to training deadlines for all corporate policies and procedures. Ensure all SOPs are followed with consistency. Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. Three to five years of progressive HR experience, including experience supporting leave-of-absence programs and directly administering ADA accommodations. Strong working knowledge of ADA, PWFA, FMLA, state and local leave laws, and related employment regulations. Experience partnering with a leave-of-absence TPA or other HR vendor. Experience working in an HR shared-services environment and managing cases through an HR ticketing or case-management system. Experience supporting HR audits, compliance reviews, workforce reductions, or organizational restructuring preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive employee matters with discretion, empathy, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication, organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with HRIS platforms, ticketing systems, Microsoft Office, and HR reporting tools. PHR, SHRM-CP, or related HR certification preferred Physical Demands & Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Prefer candidates who can type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy. Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.
