Job Description

AMERISAFE
is seeking a detail-oriented, productivity driven professional to add to our "Excellence Team" based in DeRidder, LA. The HR Generalist participates in all processes related to recruiting, onboarding, training, disciplinary actions, employment separations and employee relations activities. Makes recommendations on employee development across the company. Develops data for management reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Participates in recruitment and onboarding of new hires Partner with leadership to understand talent needs and succession planning to create strategic plans to support employee recruitment, development and retention Complete 90-day follow-ups with new hires to determine success of onboarding and gauge longevity Prepare reports as necessary to report human resources and payroll metrics for upward reporting, including reports to the Board of Directors Research and develop processes and procedures, including necessary documents and/or forms related to employment performance and development Organize learning and development Work with the community outreach specialist to research and coordinate regular quarterly and monthly training and development activities for employees and supervisors, including courses that will provide professional certifications, designations, etc. Schedule, assign and monitor completion of online training Assist department leaders in researching training, certifications, designations, etc. as requested Assist department leaders with performance management, making recommendations on corrective action, using the company's progressive discipline policy and previous performance as a reference Represent

Qualifications:
Two-year degree in business or human resources preferred Three or more years of experience in human resources or management preferred Ability and capability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the company Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information Analytical and critical thinking skills Strong computer skills with knowledge of, or the ability to learn, specific
