Local •The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Onboarding Specialist to support a large and growing DOD program located in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. This position is 100% onsite. In this role, reporting directly to the Operations Lead, the Onboarding Specialist will be responsible for ensuring seamless integration of new hires into the program. You will manage the complete onboarding lifecycle—from initial supervisor coordination through account setup, equipment provisioning, security processing, training compliance, and full operational readiness. This role is critical to ensuring new team members can quickly contribute to mission-critical work. Responsibilities & or Shared duties:New Hire Coordination:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all new hires, coordinating supervisor initial phone calls and maintaining communication throughout the onboarding process.Account & System Setup:
Establish and verify functionality of CACI email accounts, CACI/SubK timesheets, CAST submissions, and MSRF submissions for all incoming personnel.Equipment Provisioning:
Order and track CACI computers, government computers (with required software), cell phones, and property passes. Maintain accurate equipment inventory and delivery timelines.Security Processing:
Schedule and coordinate campus badge, SCI read-ons, CAC card processing, TASS emails, and courier card requirements. Track CAC receipt and ensure timely completion.Training Compliance:
Ensure completion of all required onboarding computer-based training for both CACI and Government.Badge & Access Management:
Process and track CACI building badges, C5ISR "Campus" badges, NIPR accounts, SIPR accounts (including token requests), and JWICS accounts.Travel & Administrative Support:
Coordinate corporate travel card requests and maintain updated contact rosters for all program personnel.Documentation & Tracking:
Maintain comprehensive onboarding checklists and status reports, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure new hires achieve full operational status within target timelines.Qualifications:
Required:
- AA/AS and 2+ years of related onboarding, administrative, or HR operations experience, or HS diploma and 5+ years of related experience.
- Active Secret security clearance (TS/SCI preferred or ability to obtain).
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-step processes with high attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple new hires simultaneously through complex onboarding workflows.
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders (HR, IT, Security, Program Management) to achieve time-sensitive objectives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and comfortable learning new systems and databases.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer service orientation.
Desired:
- Experience supporting onboarding for DOD programs or within a cleared environment.
- Familiarity with CAC processing, security clearance administration, or personnel security requirements.
- Knowledge of NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS account request processes.
- Experience with government training compliance tracking (AT Level I, OPSEC, CUI, etc.).
- Prior experience using CAST or similar government personnel/security systems.
- Comfortable working in a fast-growth environment where processes are actively being built and refined.
