Job Description

About Precision Health Care Precision Health Care is a growing, independently owned healthcare organization encompassing Precision Primary Care and Precision Mental Health. Our organization provides comprehensive primary care, psychiatric medication management, and psychotherapy services. With approximately 35 employees across multiple clinical and administrative departments, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care while fostering a professional, supportive, and accountable workplace. As our organization continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and independent Part-Time Human Resources Generalist to oversee essential HR functions and support our leadership team. This position is ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working independently, developing efficient processes, resolving workplace challenges, and helping a growing organization maintain strong employment practices. Position Overview The Human Resources Generalist will serve as the organization's primary internal HR resource, working directly with ownership and management to oversee employee relations, HR compliance, onboarding, running payroll and personnel documentation. We are seeking a hands-on HR professional who can independently manage day-to-day HR responsibilities, identify potential employment risks, and provide practical guidance to management. This is not an entry-level administrative position. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience managing sensitive employee matters and advising leadership on HR best practices. Key Responsibilities Employee Relations & Performance Management
  • Serve as a resource for management regarding employee relations, workplace concerns, and personnel matters.
  • Conduct and document employee investigations, complaints, and workplace disputes.
  • Guide management through employee disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations.
  • Develop and maintain standardized documentation for employee counseling, written warnings, and corrective actions.
  • Assist with conflict resolution and maintaining a respectful, professional workplace.
  • Provide practical, objective recommendations to ownership regarding employee-related decisions. Employment Law & HR Compliance
  • Support compliance with applicable federal, Maryland, and local employment laws.
  • Provide guidance regarding ADA reasonable accommodations, Maryland sick and safe leave, wage and hour requirements, and other applicable employment regulations.
  • Coordinate employee accommodation requests and the interactive process.
  • Maintain appropriate employee records, personnel files, and required documentation.
  • Review and update employee policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
  • Assist with unemployment claims, employee separations, and employment-related documentation.
  • Identify potential compliance concerns and recommend corrective actions. Employee Onboarding
  • Conduct reference checks and coordinate background screening as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain standardized onboarding and offboarding procedures.
  • Ensure completion of required employment documentation, including Form I-9.
  • Coordinate new-hire orientation and employee policy acknowledgment. HR Administration & Employee Benefits
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel records.
  • Assist with employee benefits administration, enrollment, and employee questions.
  • Run biweekly payroll with our existing payroll provider, Paycom.
  • Track employee leave, attendance concerns, and relevant personnel documentation.
  • Develop efficient HR processes appropriate for a growing healthcare organization. Organizational Development
  • Partner directly with ownership to strengthen employee accountability, communication, and workplace culture.
  • Assist with performance evaluation processes and employee development.
  • Identify opportunities to improve employee retention and reduce workplace conflict.
  • Help establish consistent HR policies and management practices across departments. Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive human resources experience.
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated experience independently managing employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions, or terminations.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and Maryland employment laws.
  • Experience advising business owners, executives, or department managers on personnel matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information.
  • Excellent written communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Previous HR experience in healthcare, medical practices, behavioral health, or other professional service organizations.
  • Experience supporting organizations with 25-100 employees.
  • Experience with Paycom or similar HR/payroll systems.
  • Familiarity with Maryland employment regulations and employee accommodation processes.
  • Experience developing employee handbooks, HR policies, and standardized disciplinary procedures. Ideal Candidate We are particularly interested in an HR professional who:
  • Has previously served as the primary HR contact for a small or midsized organization.
  • Is comfortable handling difficult employee conversations and sensitive workplace situations.
  • Understands how to balance employee advocacy with organizational accountability.
  • Can confidently advise ownership while recognizing when employment counsel should be consulted.
  • Takes initiative and does not require constant direction.
  • Is detail-oriented and prioritizes thorough, accurate documentation.
  • Can establish structure and consistency within a growing organization. Schedule & Compensation
  • 16 hours per week, typically two 8-hour days.
  • On-site position in Timonium, Maryland.
  • Hourly compensation: $32-$42, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
