The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Human Resources Manager and is responsible for administering employee benefits programs, managing benefits administration across all offerings, ensuring benefits-related audit / regulatory compliance, management of HR-related data in the payroll system, coordinating employee wellness activities and handling various HR administration tasks. Position will also be responsible for various aspects of new employee onboarding / offboarding and other HR support. This role requires a detail-oriented and organized individual with a background in benefits administration and human resources.Specific duties:
Employee Benefits Administration:
Administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employer-paid or voluntary benefits. Perform quarterly reviews and reconciliations of the 403(b) Plan. Serve as a main contact for the annual 403(b) Audit and Form 5500 filing. Serve as liaison with benefit broker(s) to relay important plan changes, new offering or other educational materials across the plan offering to employee population. Reconcile monthly benefits invoices across all vendors. Assist new hires with onboarding of benefits as well as offboarding for those transitioning. Manage annual benefits open enrollment process as well as ongoing benefit plan changes. Manage compliance-related aspects and mandatory reporting for all benefit plans. Ensure benefits compliance with respect to COBRA, FMLA, ACA, etc.Payroll System Administration and Maintenance:
Partner with Business Office team to process semi-monthly payroll. Serve as first point of contact for employees with payroll-related questions Resolve employee tax discrepancies and set-up new state payroll tax accounts. Manage payroll data for all NDP employees and make changes as needed (supplements, stipends, overtime, bonus payments, etc.). Manage payroll meetings (schedule, attend, coordinate documentation). Review semi-monthly payroll for accuracy. Audit payroll process and/or HR data collection and make adjustments or suggest changes, as needed. Create and/or deliver standard and/or ad-hoc reports, as needed, to various constituents across the organization. Responsible for annual Form W-2 & Form 1095 processing.HR & Other Support:
Prepare Family Medical Leave paperwork for employees and simultaneously manage PTO usage in payroll system. Answer general HR policy and procedure questions. Complete employment verifications. Manage employee training platform to ensure annual completion along with assignment of required courses to new employees, etc. Manage employee Wellness Initiatives. Support HR initiatives and projects as needed.Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree in finance, accounting or human resources preferred. Experience with payroll, benefits administration and Time & Attendance systems. Paycom experience is a plus. Highly detail-oriented individual with proven ability to work independently and with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry and analysis. Ability to act with discretion, tact, and professionalism in an academic environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.Physical Requirements:
Frequently required to sit and perform computer-related tasks. Occasionally required to stand, walk, balance, bend, stoop or lift up to 15 pounds.
