Job Description
OHI is looking to hire a Human Resources Specialist Contact our Recruitment Manager with any questions.
Rate of Pay:
$20.00-20.25 hourly Full-Time Position Position Summary The Human Resources Specialist (HRS) supports OHI's HR operations, with a focus on employee-benefits administration, data entry/processing, personnel recordkeeping, and pre- and post-employment processing. Because HRS duties are shared among multiple staff, an individual HRS may not perform every task listed below. Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma/GED; at least two years of HR experience.
- Working knowledge of benefits, recruitment, privacy, and confidentiality laws (ERISA, HIPAA, HITECH, ACA, FMLA, PFML,COBRA)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and HR software (e.g., UKG)
- Strong written communication, organizational skills, and independent judgment
- Approved OHI driver Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process employee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations, including COBRA notifications
- Enter and maintain data in HR systems (UKG, Foothold) Set up new hires in system.
- Complete pre-employment reference, credential, and eligibility checks; process new-hire paperwork
- Maintain personnel, medical, and I-9/employment-eligibility records in accordance with HIPAA and OHI's retention policy
- Produce and distribute HR reports (license/certification expirations, turnover and retention statistics, performance-review due dates)
- Process employee terminations, resignations, and verification-of-employment requests
- Coordinate FMLA correspondence and close out files as assigned
- Respond to employee questions about benefits and HR systems
- Support job fairs, new-manager training, and the OHI Benefits Committee
- Perform other duties as assigned, including acting in the capacity of the Director of Human Resources when designated
- Performance Reviews, Unemployment, PIPs (entering and scanning) Physical Requirements Ability to run, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, and lift at least 50 pounds; adequate vision, hearing, reading, and writing ability; sufficient stamina for extended work periods; and a flexible schedule.
