GR Select Services LLC | Byron Center, MI Full-Time | Monday-Friday About the Position GR Select Services is a growing residential and commercial cleaning company in West Michigan. We are looking for an experienced, organized, proactive HR Generalist to manage the day-to-day HR needs of our growing team. This is a hands-on position for someone who can take ownership, follow through, stay organized, maintain confidentiality, and work independently . The HR Generalist will work closely with employees, managers, Operations, and leadership. Bilingual English/Spanish and UKG Ready experience are strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Recruiting & Onboarding Manage job postings, applicant screening, interviews, hiring, and offer letters. Coordinate new-hire onboarding and ensure all required employment documents are completed. Maintain employee information and onboarding activities in UKG Ready . Coordinate orientation, policies, uniforms, and required training. Employee Relations & Performance Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns. Assist managers with employee relations, coaching, corrective action, and performance issues. Handle employee complaints and workplace investigations professionally and confidentially. Coordinate probationary and annual performance reviews. Monitor attendance and help ensure company policies are consistently followed. Payroll, Benefits & HR Records Support payroll by reviewing timekeeping, missing punches, pay changes, and employee information. Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and HRIS records. Assist with medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and other benefits. Process and track employee status changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations. FMLA, Leave & Compliance Administer and track employee leaves of absence, including FMLA , as applicable. Maintain leave documentation, eligibility information, deadlines, and return-to-work dates. Assist employees and managers with questions regarding FMLA and other applicable leave requirements. Maintain required HR records, forms, postings, and documentation. Stay informed about applicable federal and Michigan employment laws and requirements. Safety, OSHA & Workers' Compensation Coordinate and track required employee safety training and maintain training records. Maintain OSHA injury and illness records and assist with required reporting. Track workplace injuries, accidents, incidents, and near-misses. Manage and follow up on workers' compensation claims . Coordinate medical documentation, work restrictions, and return-to-work processes. Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions. Work with Operations to identify safety concerns and help prevent future injuries. Maintain SDS and other required safety documentation. HR Reporting & Administration Prepare and maintain HR reports, including active employee, attendance, training, injury, birthday, anniversary, and turnover reports. Track HR deadlines and follow up with managers to ensure tasks are completed. Assist with creating and maintaining HR policies, forms, and SOPs. Maintain organized and audit-ready HR records. Offboarding Coordinate employee terminations and required documentation. Document termination date, reason for separation, and rehire eligibility. Coordinate return of uniforms, keys, equipment, and company property. Ensure terminated employees are properly updated/removed from UKG and applicable benefit programs. Qualifications 2+ years of HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or similar HR experience. Working knowledge of FMLA and employee leave administration . Experience with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and HR records. Experience with an HRIS/payroll system; UKG Ready preferred . Experience with workplace injuries and workers' compensation preferred. Knowledge of OSHA requirements and recordkeeping preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee matters. Ability to have difficult conversations professionally. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. The Right Person Will Be Proactive — sees what needs to be done and takes action.
