Job Description

Purpose:
Laser Operator is responsible for operating laser cutting machines to fabricate metal components according to customer specifications.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Operate laser cutting machines to fabricate metal components according to blueprints/ specifications. Use precision measuring instruments to verify the accuracy of the laser cutting process including pin gauges and calipers. Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on laser cutting machines and other equipment. Complete necessary training and certification to operate hi-lo equipment safely and efficiently as needed to perform job duties. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Skills/Qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Acute attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to apply logic to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Familiarity with basic hand tools and precision measuring instruments. Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency to meet scheduled daily goals. Ability to retain and recall critical information relating to procedures, programs, customer specifications and material/tool requirements for a wide range of jobs. Mechanically inclined. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED. 1+ year as a Laser Operator or metal fabricator.
Requirements:
Ability to read/write/speak in English Ability to stand throughout entire shift with frequent bending and twisting. Ability to lift 50lbs occasionally. Hi-lo certification may be needed to perform job duties and requires a valid driver's license. May be required to perform other jobs outside of your department as needed.
