Job Description

Human Resource Generalist – Grand Rapids, MI Our client is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to support a growing HR team in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys balancing both strategic and hands-on responsibilities across recruiting, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle recruiting including sourcing, interviewing, candidate selection, and onboarding Partner with managers to identify hiring needs and required skill sets Administer employee benefits, leave management, and compensation-related processes Support employee relations, disciplinary actions, investigations, and performance improvement plans Ensure completion and compliance of required training, onboarding, and employee assessments Conduct background checks and employment verification Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws Assist with HR initiatives related to talent development, employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture Serve as a resource for employee questions and HR policy guidance
Qualifications:
Experience in Human Resources with exposure to recruiting, benefits, and employee relations Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally SHRM-CP or similar certification preferred Experience in healthcare, medical equipment, or regulated environments is a plus
