Human Resources Generalist

Administration Building

12 Month Position

Position Summary:

Acts as the district's substitute coordinator by providing support and guidance to substitutes throughout their employment, ensuring smooth and effective coverage. Supports the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, Human Resources Manager, and Human Resources Specialist in an administrative assistant role. Compiles and maintains personnel records by assisting the Assistant Superintendent-Human Resources in a variety of tasks to enhance the smooth and efficient operation of the Human Resources Department and related district services. Performing these duties requires initiative, analysis, independent judgment, and the ability to assume responsibilities and make decisions within established parameters.

Education and Experience:

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

Associate's Degree, B.A., or B.S. in related fields preferred.

2 to 5 years of job-related prior experience preferred.

Previous educational environment or HR experience preferred.

Essential Job Functions include the following: Other Duties May Be Assigned

Facilitates comprehensive onboarding, offboarding, and the annual intent-to-return process for all substitute positions.

Generates and submits personnel data to the Business Office and in the HR information system for bi-weekly substitute teacher payroll and accounting data

Administrator of SmartFind Express absence management system.

Monitors the mandatory training system to ensure substitute compliance.

Oversees the district's volunteer process and maintains accurate, up-to-date records in accordance with board policy.

Completes Verification of Employment requests (banks, apartments, etc.).

Coordinates with universities and building supervisors for student teacher placements.

Schedules appointments and creates staff badges.

Assists in district-wide compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and provides guidance on sensitive employee matters, maintaining confidentiality and a neutral, professional stance.

Assists with the preparation of the Personnel Agenda for Board of Education meetings and ensures all vendor quotes and MOUs are approved in accordance with Board policy.

Creates classified timesheets annually.

Updates the NonDiscrimination Resources Handbook and distributes it to all locations.

Account management for MACHS, FCSR, and E-Verify. System Administrator for the district's HR technology platform, PowerSchool (Applicant Tracking, Records, and Perform).

Maintains the primary HR database, ensuring high integrity for all employee records.

Conducts purchases, submits purchase orders, and maintains the department credit card for all Human Resources purchases.

Drafts, generates, and analyzes statistical and narrative reports of workforce trends for district leadership, including salary and leave data.

Attends and/or records confidential meetings; transcribes minutes and manages the distribution of follow-up materials.

Handles sensitive and contentious matters with a high degree of discretion and professional ethics.

Communicates regularly and interprets District Policies and procedures for employees at all levels to ensure uniform application of rules.

Provides professional and accurate responses to all inquiries in a reasonable and timely manner to maintain operational efficiency.

Seeks out and attends ongoing training and professional development to stay current on Missouri labor laws, DESE regulations, and HR best practices.

COMPENSATION FOR EXPERIENCE IS CONSIDERED, 2026-2027
