Tues-Thurs Raleigh office About the Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Leave of Absence & Accommodations Specialist to support employees with leave, disability, workplace accommodation, and return-to-work needs. In this role, you will handle complex employee cases, explain leave and accommodation policies, ensure compliance with U.S. laws, and work closely with HR, Legal, Employee Relations, Benefits, Payroll, managers, and external vendors. This is a great opportunity for someone who has strong experience with FMLA, ADA, disability, and workplace accommodations and enjoys solving complex employee situations. What You Will Do Manage complex Leave of Absence (LOA) cases. Support employees with FMLA, disability, accommodation, and return-to-work matters. Manage the ADA interactive process and help identify appropriate workplace accommodations. Review employee documentation and make sure cases are handled properly. Maintain accurate and detailed case records. Communicate with employees and managers about leave and accommodation requirements. Partner with HR, Legal, Employee Relations, Benefits, Payroll, and vendors to resolve complex cases. Provide guidance and support to other Leave/Accommodation Specialists. Help improve processes, procedures, templates, and training materials. Identify potential compliance or legal risks and escalate them when needed. Ensure leave and accommodation cases are handled consistently, professionally, and confidentially. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience. Strong experience with Leave of Absence, FMLA, ADA, disability, or workplace accommodations. Experience handling c omplex or escalated employee cases. Strong understanding of the ADA interactive process. Knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local leave laws. Excellent case documentation and communication skills. Experience working with HR, Legal, Employee Relations, Benefits, Payroll, or managers. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Experience coaching or mentoring other HR/LOA specialists is preferred. Experience with Workday and ServiceNow is strongly preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Preferred Certifications Certifications such as PHR, SPHR, CLMS, CEBS, or Certified Professional in Disability Management are a plus. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who has hands-on experience managing FMLA and ADA cases, understands workplace accommodations, can handle difficult employee situations, documents cases carefully, and can confidently work with HR and Legal teams.
