Job Description

THIS IS AN INDEFINITE NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a
HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST
(EMPL
BEN/COMP
) , Position Description Number D1273P01 and is part of the NH ARNG HRO, National Guard. This vacancy is to gather applications that may or may not result in a referral or selection.
Qualifications:
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is a Title 32 Indefinite excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
Military Grades :
E1 to E7; WO1 to CW4; O1 to O3 Selectee(s) must be within the military grade(s) listed in this job announcement prior to the effective date of placement into the technician position. Applicant(s) who are over grade must clearly state, in their resumes, their intentions to willingly take a reduction in grade.
Compatible Military Assignments:
MOS IMMATERIAL GENERAL EXPERIENCE
: Experiences gained through military or civilian technical training schools, within the human resources business programs, are included as general experience qualifications. An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provided a basic working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and personnel programs. Must have a basic knowledge and experiences of personnel programs gained in a classroom or as an on-the-job trainee. Have knowledge-based competency of human resources business elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency. Experienced in using references and resource materials and experienced in program functions such as, maintaining personnel records, counseling, or classification and assignments. Experiences may include performing personnel functions associated with preparing and maintaining position descriptions and manual records, personnel classification or usage, quality force management, managing personnel records, federal benefits programs and researching record data. Experienced in operating a computer and using varied computer programs. It is not necessary for applicants to possess the
MOS/AFSC
listed as compatible to the position in order to apply, however applicant must meet the qualifications for the position. It is applicant's responsibility to acquire a compatible
MOS/AFSC
within 1 year of appointment. Coordinate with your unit's training representative to determine whether or not you can qualify for a specific MOS/AFSC and/or receive training within the 1 year timeframe before accepting the position.
