The YMCA is looking for an experienced HR Generalist to support our employees and managers across the full employee lifecycle. In this role, you'll help recruit, develop, and retain talented staff while ensuring compliance with employment laws and HR best practices. Reporting to the HR Director, you'll play a key role in creating a positive workplace culture that helps strengthen our community. What You'll Do Manage full-cycle recruitment, hiring, and onboarding Maintain employee records and HRIS data Support employee relations and respond to HR inquiries Coordinate performance review and performance management processes Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws Assist with HR policies, procedures, and employee communications In conjunction with Training and Development Director, coordinate employee training, professional development, and engagement initiatives Process employee status changes, including promotions, transfers, leaves, and separations Partner with payroll to ensure accurate employee records and timekeeping Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For Required:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) At least 5 years of HR experience in a generalist or similar HR role for workplace of 100+ employees Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Experience with HRIS platforms (Dayforce preferred),
Docusign, Sharepoint and Microsoft Office Preferred:
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or similar HR certification Experience with payroll processing and benefits administration Experience leading talent acquisition and employee engagement initiatives The Ideal Candidate You are: A relationship builder with excellent customer service skills Detail-oriented and highly organized A strong communicator and active listener Professional, trustworthy, and committed to confidentiality Able to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy Passionate about fostering an inclusive, welcoming workplace Why the YMCA? Salary Range:
