Job Description

We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join a food and food processing organization in Paterson, New Jersey on a contract-to-permanent basis. This role supports employees and managers across the full employee lifecycle, combining hands-on HR administration with recruiting, onboarding, benefits coordination, and employee relations. The ideal candidate brings a service-oriented approach, strong organizational skills, and the ability to help foster an engaged, well-supported workplace.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and supervisors, providing timely guidance on workplace questions, policies, and day-to-day people matters.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting activities by coordinating job postings, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and partnering with leaders to identify the right qualifications for each opening.
  • Prepare offer documentation and lead onboarding activities that help new employees transition smoothly into the organization.
  • Administer core HR programs such as benefits, leave management, employee relations matters, performance support, and training coordination.
  • Support medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and related benefit plans by processing enrollment changes, employee updates, and separations accurately.
  • Assist with leave requests and workplace accommodations while maintaining compliance and clear communication with employees and management.
  • Maintain and update job titles, position classifications, and job description records to support workforce planning and organizational consistency.
  • Deliver guidance and training to employees and managers on HR policies, job-related procedures, and other workplace topics as business needs arise.
  • Contribute to weekly payroll processes by ensuring employee data and related HR transactions are accurate and submitted on time.
