Job:
The Human Resources Generalist supports day-to-day HR operations, including recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, payroll, benefits, leave administration, compliance, training, and performance management. This role partners with employees and leadership to ensure consistent application of company policies, accurate HR records, and a positive, compliant, and safety-focused workplace.
  • Performs both routine and non-routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to employee onboarding, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Participates in the interview process and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions to meet current or anticipated staffing needs, as needed; collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for each position
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, providing accurate information on general policy, benefits and payroll related questions/concerns
  • Consults with leadership to resolve employee related complaints and conflicts and refers complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Manager
  • Assists with the creation and implementation of effective trainings and development programs to meet job requirements, skill proficiency and development needs
  • Supports weekly payroll and prepares related reports
  • Monitors employee time and attendance and ensures proper tracking and documentation is occurring
  • Utilizes HRIS system to maintain accurate employee data and documentation; maintains electronic personnel files
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices for compliance.
  • Oversees employee performance review system ensuring reviews are completed on time and per company policy
  • Promotes corporate wellness initiatives and supports a healthy lifestyle culture for employees through education and program offerings
  • Continually seeks professional development opportunities to stay up to date on changes in the HR field and state/federal law to support continued growth
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times and develops trust with all levels of employees in the organization
  • Enforces safety policies and practices to ensure culture of health and safety; identifies safety hazards and works with management team on corrective actions
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Skills & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of HR experience
  • Proficiency working in a computer-supported environment with payroll and HR software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow; able to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
Salary:
$65,000-$75,000
