Non-Exempt SUMMARY The HR Generalist - Data Management position provides comprehensive HRIS and data administration services for the district. This role is responsible for setting up and maintaining employee master records, managing primary and secondary pay assignments, reviewing board documents for personnel agenda verification, ensuring accurate data synchronization between BusinessPlus and PowerSchool systems, and supporting daily office operations while maintaining confidential records and ensuring compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(include but are not limited to the following…) HRIS System Input & Data Management Board Document review and personnel agenda verification. Employee Master record creation and maintenance (setting up new employee master screens and updating existing profiles in BusinessPlus). Creation and maintenance of primary and secondary employee pay assignments. Pulling supplemental information for payment and pay assignment processing. Processing transportation route changes and district location updates. Managing data synchronization and error resolution between BusinessPlus (B+) and PowerSchool systems. Office Support Provide general office support to ensure efficient daily operations of the Human Resources Department, including answering phones, greeting visitors, responding to inquiries, and directing requests appropriately. Perform clerical and administrative support tasks such as scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, preparing correspondence, and coordinating communications. Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and confidentiality of records. Prepare format, and distribute documents, reports, forms, and internal communications as needed. Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and correspondences; prepare outgoing mail. Assist with data entry and record maintenance to support departmental workflows and reporting needs. Provide routine administrative support to HR staff and leadership as assigned to support departmental priorities. Act as a liaison for general customer complaints, resolving basic issues independently. Key Expectations Demonstrate ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism. QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. Must pass Federal and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation background check in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code Section 3301-83-06 Bachelor's degree (or active enrollment in a degree program) Preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of ten (10) years of dedicated experience in high-level office administration and human resources functions may be considered ). Exceptional interpersonal and universal communication skills to interact with executives, guests, and vendors. Direct experience managing day-to-day office logistics, administrative functions, and general team support. Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills. Ability to switch tasks quickly from administrative work to direct customer interaction. Excellent verbal and written skills for professional drafting of emails and handling calls. Strong time-management skills to balance customer needs with daily operational tasks. Experience managing internal purchase, supply, or headcount requisitions, ensuring proper department approvals before processing. Prior experience working within a public school district, government entity, or unionized environment. Direct experience acting as a primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries (health, dental, vision, life, and retirement/STRS/SERS plans) and collaborating with insurance brokers or third-party administrators (TPAs). Experience using cloud-based HRIS/payroll systems, building workflows in Google Forms, or utilizing intermediate Google Sheets functions (e.g., data sorting, VLOOKUPs, basic formulas) and Microsoft Office 365 suite. Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR) or progress toward obtaining certification is preferred. Office administration practices, records management, and customer service principles.
