Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized, hands-on HR Generalist to serve as the company's primary Human Resources professional. This individual will manage the day-to-day HR function for a manufacturing organization and support employees throughout the entire employment lifecycle—from recruiting and onboarding through performance management, employee relations and offboarding. This is a standalone HR position for someone who enjoys taking ownership, working independently and building trusted relationships throughout an organization. Working closely with the Plant Manager, the HR Generalist will help address workforce needs while supporting a productive, compliant and positive workplace.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Take ownership of the company's day-to-day Human Resources function.
- Serve as the primary HR resource for employees, supervisors and company leadership.
- Develop, implement and maintain HR policies, procedures and processes.
- Administer the HRIS and ensure employee information remains accurate and current.
- Manage the complete recruiting process, from identifying staffing needs through hiring and onboarding.
- Develop job descriptions and advertisements, source candidates, screen applicants and coordinate interviews.
- Coordinate new-hire paperwork, employment documentation, HRIS setup, benefits enrollment and required training.
- Manage employee separations, including documentation, final paperwork, benefits information and the return of company property.
- Conduct or coordinate exit interviews and identify trends or opportunities for improvement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions, concerns and workplace issues.
- Partner with leadership on employee relations matters, workplace investigations, disciplinary issues and corrective actions.
- Maintain appropriate documentation related to employee performance and conduct.
- Administer employee benefits and coordinate enrollment, changes and annual open enrollment.
- Provide payroll-related employee information, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, deductions and timekeeping updates.
- Administer attendance, PTO, vacation and leave-of-absence programs.
- Work with payroll, benefits and HR vendors to resolve issues and maintain accurate employee information.
- Monitor company policies and HR practices for compliance with federal, state and local employment requirements.
- Manage unemployment and workers' compensation claims as appropriate.
- Partner with employment counsel, benefits providers and other outside professionals when specialized expertise is needed.
- Maintain a visible, approachable HR presence on the manufacturing floor.
- Partner with leadership to address attendance, staffing, performance, training and employee relations concerns.
- Create and deliver training content or coordinate programs with internal resources and outside vendors.
- Support consistent enforcement of attendance expectations, workplace rules and safety-related policies.
- Coordinate the company's performance-review process.
- Support employee recognition, engagement, retention and morale initiatives.
- Help foster a professional, respectful and productive workplace culture.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field preferred; equivalent HR experience may be considered.
- Three to seven years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Experience supporting a manufacturing or hourly workforce strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage a broad range of HR responsibilities.
- Experience with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, HRIS administration and compliance.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and Human Resources best practices.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound judgment and the ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality.
- The confidence to work directly with company ownership, supervisors and employees at every level.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage responsibilities with minimal support.
- Experience with workers' compensation and unemployment claims preferred.
- Experience using HRIS, timekeeping and payroll systems preferred.
- Familiarity with federal and Ohio employment requirements affecting manufacturing employers preferred.
- Previous experience serving as a standalone HR professional or leading HR operations within a growing business is a plus.

Pay:
$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per yearBenefits:
