Job Description

•PART TIME•
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
Manages the human resources (HR) initiatives, able to understand and follow policies and procedures, including compliance, employee onboarding and exiting, performance management, training, compensation, affirmative action planning and employee safety. Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Effectively engage with talent that is joining Pandrol as well as supporting employees currently working in our organization. Monitoring the landscape and supporting Human Resource directives.
KEY AREAS OF ACTIVITY AND RESPONSIBILITY
Handle the day-to-day function of HR for the business unit. Form relationships with hiring managers to ensure clear candidate/interviewer expectations. Execute all talent acquisition for the site. (Recruitment, Orientation etc.) Provides employee relations support, including conflict resolution, disciplinary action and performance improvement counselling. Conducts investigations regarding discrimination and unfair employment practices, including, but not limited to, those involving federal and state agency charges. Assist in implementing the HR functions such as employment, labor relations, compensation, training, equal employment/affirmative action, records, safety and health, benefits, employee engagement and employee services. Assists management in planning, development, implementation, and evaluation activities. Studies feedback and develop strategies that balance the needs of employees and management with relation to employee services and policy alignment. Assist in conducting training for employees on a variety of issues including, but not limited to, performance management, diversity, etc. Evaluates the status and productivity of HR training programs and recommends changes to improve effectiveness. HR Administration; Responsible for all benefit administration, electronic employee file management, data metrics, training, general HR administration, ADP Management. Responsible for monitoring site absentee program and coordinating with supervisors with the appropriate discipline administration. Execute Salaried Payroll Bi-Weekly and Hourly Payroll Weekly Performs other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.
SKILLS NEEDED QUALIFICATIONS
Someone who likes a challenging environment and is skilled in working with creative solutions. Proficiency in documentation processes and keeping up with industry trends. Articulate communicator with an ability to reach a diverse audience, both verbally and written. Solid commitment to customer and/or employee services. Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail. A keen understanding of the requirements for each role in the company. Capacity to convey difficult and challenging information to employees at all levels of the organization. Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization and achieve cultural change in the face of potential resistance. EDUCATION and
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university and a minimum of 5 to 7 years of related experience.
CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to comprehend, analyse and interpret business documents. Ability to effectively respond to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, supervisor and/or management. Ability to motivate employees and client groups to take desired action.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions including percentages, discounts and commissions.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to analyse and interpret considerable data in varying circumstances and provide solutions to varying unique challenges. OTHER SKILLS and
ABILITIES
, Strong Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Planner and Excel skills required. Knowledge of ADP. Primary business partners are first line supervisors, mid-level managers and directors.
