Job Description
Description Charlie Gilmur with Robert Half is searching for a Human Resources Generalist to support core HR operations for a multi-site organization in Portland, Oregon. This role contributes to recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance tracking, and day-to-day employee support while working closely with HR leadership and internal partners. The ideal candidate is organized, service-oriented, and comfortable managing confidential information in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a first point of contact for routine human resources questions from employees and supervisors, directing more sensitive or complex matters to HR leadership.
- Manage recruiting coordination by posting openings, arranging interviews, corresponding with applicants, preparing employment documents, and helping facilitate pre-employment screening steps.
- Lead onboarding administrative processes, including assembling onboarding materials, confirming required forms are completed, supporting benefits sign-up, and organizing first-day readiness.
- Support benefits administration by processing enrollment updates, answering standard plan-related questions, monitoring leave activity, and maintaining accurate documentation in line with applicable requirements.
- Partner with payroll and finance teams to provide timely employee status changes such as promotions, transfers, and separations while helping maintain accurate records.
- Maintain compliant and well-organized personnel files, monitor required training completion, manage employment eligibility documentation, and keep workplace notices current.
- Assist with employee relations administration by coordinating meetings, preparing supporting documentation, and safeguarding confidential records under the guidance of the HR Manager.
- Coordinate training logistics by scheduling sessions, tracking participation, preparing materials, and updating learning system enrollments as needed.
- Draft and update HR materials such as forms, templates, standard procedures, handbook content, and internal communications using approved formats and processes.

03600-0013504127 Requirements- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
- At least 1 year of human resources experience supporting multiple functional areas such as recruiting, onboarding, benefits, compliance, or employee relations.
- Hands-on experience using HRIS platforms and applicant tracking systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain accurate electronic and paper records.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Experience supporting employees across multiple locations or within a distributed work environment is preferred.
- HR certification is helpful but not required.
