Job Description

Part-Time HR Generalist Our construction industry client is seeking a Part-Time HR Generalist to provide hands-on support across payroll coordination, benefits administration, employee relations, and day-to-day HR operations for a growing organization. The ideal candidate is highly organized, approachable, and detail-oriented, with the ability to independently manage deadlines, resolve employee questions, and maintain accuracy across HR and payroll processes. This role is based in Tigard, Oregon working around 12 to 15 hours per week. Must be available to work on Mondays and Thursdays. Part-Time HR Generalist Responsibilities Coordinate weekly and biweekly payroll activities, including reviewing timecards, validating hours and job-costing information, preparing payroll data, and reconciling processed payroll. Serve as a resource for approximately 50 employees by responding to HR, payroll, benefits, PTO, and policy-related questions in a timely and professional manner. Administer employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, personnel records, HR/payroll system updates, benefits eligibility and enrollment, and support for performance review processes. Maintain accurate timekeeping and labor-cost information within ERP/job-costing systems, including construction field hours, overtime, leave, and union-related payroll requirements. Support broader HR administration and compliance efforts, including employment policies, job descriptions, compensation research, benefits invoice review, reporting, and monitoring applicable employment regulations. Part-Time HR Generalist Qualifications High school diploma and 2+ years of human resources and payroll experience; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, candidates pursuing a relevant degree also considered. Experience with HRIS and ERP systems; familiarity with ADP and Viewpoint/Trimble or similar job-costing platforms is a plus. Industry experience in construction and/or AEC highly preferred. Certified payroll experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy, with the ability to audit payroll information, reconcile records, and manage sensitive employee data. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills, along with strong electronic recordkeeping and organizational abilities. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a self-directed, resourceful approach to problem-solving, prioritization, confidentiality, and deadline management.
Compensation:
$30-$35/hr. (DOE) Benefits Benefits include a SEP retirement plan after the first full year of employment, with potential profit sharing. Paid time off.
