Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Human Resources Generalist to join our team. In this vital role, you will drive key HR initiatives, support workforce management, and ensure compliance with employment laws. Responsibilities:
Payroll and Benefits Administration Process time card adjustments in Payroll system for hourly employees Coordinate firm payroll in partnership, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality Administer the firm's benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), HSA, disability and life insurance plans. Serve as the liaison to brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators, resolving employee benefit questions and issues Assist with annual open enrollment, including employee communication and education Administer leaves of absence, FMLA, COBRA, disability, and workers' compensation claims Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and support annual benefits reporting, plan audits, and required filings Track changes in benefit regulations and plan design and bring recommendations forward Employee Records and HR Systems Maintain employee records and personnel files Maintain data integrity in the firm's HRIS and payroll systems, and support their continued development Document HR processes as they are performed, contributing to the firm's operations process inventory Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Coordinate non-attorney recruiting: job postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, background checks, and offer paperwork Own the new hire onboarding sequence, including IT and facilities setup, orientation, benefits enrollment, and early check-ins Coordinate the logistics of the Summer Associate Program in support of the firm's recruitment and retention goals Facilitate offboarding processes Compliance Maintain compliance with federal and Pennsylvania employment requirements, including I-9 verification and audits, EEO reporting, and required workplace postings Track mandatory training completion Support paralegal and attorney licensure tracking, bar registration, and CLE compliance Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policy documentation Stay current on employment law developments and flag items requiring firm attention People and Culture Serve as a discreet, approachable point of contact for attorneys and staff on HR questions across all offices Coordinate employee recognition, service anniversaries, wellness initiatives, and firm events Support employee engagement efforts Support the Senior Director of Operations on employee relations matters, documenting carefully and escalating appropriately Experience Proven experience in an HR department role with a strong understanding of human resources management practices. Demonstrated expertise in recruiting, personnel administration, benefits administration, and employee relations. Familiarity with project management principles and organization design strategies. Knowledge of employment law in talent management and regulatory compliance management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly. Experience with data entry, interview techniques, and conflict resolution.
