Job Description
Summary The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing the complete scope of HR related duties in the following functional areas: payroll administration, benefits administration recruiting/onboarding, training, performance management and policy implementation. Duties and Responsibilities Administers human resource plans and procedures for all facility personnel across the three Washington plants. Processes weekly and bi-weekly payroll Works with supervisors and HR employees across all US operations to process all aspects of payroll including, time card review, special payments, garnishment, bonuses, etc. Works closely with the Compensation and Benefits Manager to administer benefits information, including open enrollment, changes and communication and enters employees into the benefit management system. Maintains HRIS and keeps employee files up to date and accurate including new hires and terminations Works closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager to develop staffing strategies and leads the hiring process at the facility Presents offers of employment and schedules necessary background, physical testing and drug testing. Conducts new employee onboarding and orientation for the plants Communicates, explains and manages personnel policies and procedures. Participates with the HR Director and Plant Management in developing department goals, objectives, and systems for the facility. Manages FMLA cases. Manages short and long-term disability as well as Workers Compensation cases. Handles employee relations and grievances as needed. Conduct incident investigations Communicates with WPP HR Director regarding terminations or resignations. Gets counseling and guidance on terminations. Conducts exit interviews. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as designated. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Performs other related duties as required and assigned Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field At least 2 years of experience in HR in a manufacturing environment, including union experience Able to multi-task priorities among the 3 Washington, PA plants High attention to detail Communicates effectively with employees and management Process oriented Excellent written skills Results oriented Strong collaborator Able to travel approximately 15% Working Conditions Office and Manufacturing Environment Responsibility for Safety, Health & Environmental Individual is expected to perform job duties safely and in compliance with documentation outlined in the Safety, Health & Environmental system. Quality Individual is expected to perform job duties in compliance with defined management system requirements.
