Position Overview As a Part-Time Employee Relations Specialist, you will provide subject matter expertise and hands-on support for employee relations. Your primary objective will be to ensure employee experiences are consistent with Yahoo's core values, code of conduct, workplace policies, and local requirements. This role will also serve as a trusted advisor to HR Business Partners and HR Generalists by coaching them on best practices for managing employee relations issues. Ideal Candidates The ideal candidate has deep experience in employee relations, strong judgment, and a collaborative coaching style, with the ability to work independently in a dynamic HR environment. While this role is predominantly US focused, experience in employee relations in EMEA and APAC countries is a great advantage.
Responsibilities:
Lead quality investigations from intake interviews to recommended corrective actions which range from coaching to terminations. Review ER matters to ensure investigations are handled in a timely manner and consistent with Yahoo's core values, code of conduct, workplace policies, and local requirements. Ability to listen and leverage your subject matter expertise and insights to influence all levels of the organization and effectively handle complex employee situations. Advise and guide HR Business Partners and HR Generalists on a wide range of employee relations matters, including performance management, workplace conduct, investigations, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation Create guidelines, best practices, and training to educate employees, managers, and other members of HR in how to mitigate and properly address behavioral issues in the workplace. Understand the importance of discretion, sensitivity and confidentiality. Identify opportunities to streamline ER processes and improve efficiency, consistency, and employee experience. Partner across the Company with senior leaders, Legal, Ethics & Compliance, HR Business Partners, and Corporate Security. Maintain and update (as needed) Company policies, practices, and guidelines.
Qualifications:
5 + years Employee Relations experience for a complex, rapidly changing environment. Effective and concise verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to coach and influence HR professionals at multiple levels. Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be viewed as approachable and objective. The compensation for this position ranges from $110,625.00 - $230,625.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.

The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
