Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HR Federal Onboarding Specialist to join our team! In this vital role, you will lead the onboarding process for federal employees, ensuring a seamless and compliant transition into the organization. Your expertise in human capital management, employment law, and onboarding procedures will drive an engaging experience for new hires while maintaining adherence to federal regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence workforce integration, support strategic HR initiatives, and promote a positive organizational culture from day one. Duties Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for federal employees, including new hire documentation, background checks, and compliance verification. Coordinate with talent acquisition teams to ensure timely processing of employment applications and candidate data entry within HRIS systems such as Workday, Oracle HCM, or SAP SuccessFactors. Facilitate employee orientation sessions that cover organizational policies, benefits administration, and workplace safety protocols aligned with OSHA standards. Ensure compliance with federal employment laws including FMLA, workers' compensation, and affirmative action planning requirements. Maintain accurate records of onboarding activities, employee evaluations, and training & development progress using ATS like iCIMS or Taleo. Collaborate with HR teams on change management initiatives related to organization design and workforce management strategies. Support employee relations by addressing onboarding inquiries promptly and providing exceptional communication throughout the process. Qualifications Proven experience in human resources management with a focus on onboarding or talent acquisition. Strong knowledge of employment & labor law, FMLA regulations, OSHA standards, and federal HR compliance requirements. Proficiency with HRIS platforms such as Workday, UltiPro, Paychex, or Kronos; familiarity with applicant tracking systems like iCIMS or Taleo is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex policies clearly and effectively. Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently. Experience in employee orientation programs, benefits administration, and employee evaluation processes.
