About the
Role:
We're looking for an HR Generalist who will help run the daily functions of the HR department, with responsibility for the entire people cycle spanning talent acquisition, benefits administration, onboarding, and evolving company policies. This role touches nearly every part of the employee experience — from sourcing and screening candidates, to coordinating a smooth first-day experience, to maintaining the systems and records that keep HR operations accurate and reliable for the people who depend on them. The ideal candidate has a genuine passion for the people side of the business, a strong sense of ownership, the ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment, and a desire for work that has a visible, direct impact on how people experience the company. This is a full-time, hybrid position at our office located in Cerritos, CA reporting to the Sr. HR Manager.
Essential Responsibilities:
HR Operations & Administration:
Take ownership of payroll processing and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws. Manage and administer HRIS, benefits, and payroll (BambooHR), applicant tracking system (JazzHR), and performance management system (15Five). Maintain accurate and up-to-date people records, including organizational charts and sales territory/coverage maps, ensuring data integrity across HR systems and alignment with current reporting structures. Cross-train on benefits and payroll administration, providing backup coverage for biweekly payroll processing as needed.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
Support recruitment efforts by managing job postings, screening talent, and coordinating a seamless interview experience for candidates. Lead the entire onboarding journey, including I-9 verification, orientation, training schedule coordination, and probationary reviews.
Compliance & Leave Administration:
Support employee visa and immigration processes, including preparing documentation, coordinating with immigration counsel, and tracking case status to ensure timely, compliant processing. Work with vendor partners for compliance reporting (AAP and
VETS-4212
). Oversee leave administration (FMLA and other state-specific leave types).
Employee Relations & Talent Support:
Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance and helping resolve workplace conflicts with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. Serve as a bridge for employee relations matters, working under the guidance of the Sr. HR Manager to ensure fair and consistent resolutions.
Employee Engagement & Culture:
Plan and develop company events designed to foster real connections across our hybrid work environment.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree; preferably in Human Resources and/or Business Administration. 3+ years of work experience in an HR-related field, preferably as a generalist. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Administration experience in ATS, HRIS, and LMS. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws (multi-state, including CA) and regulations. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines for the team. Ability to analyze processes, identify problems, and develop effective solutions and strategies. Strong attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with job sites LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, and Indeed. Commute to the office located in Cerritos, CA minimum 3 times per week.
Bonus Qualifications:
SHRM or HRCI Certification. Experience processing payroll with multi-state employees. Pay Rate Range:
$71,000.00 - $76,000.00 per year
