Regional Compliance Specialist (Remote, Central Region) LaborMAX Staffing Job type: Full-time, salaried
Location:
Remote. Must live in the
Central Region:
AR, CO, IL, KS, LA, MO, NE, NM, ND, OK, SD, TN, TX, WI, or WY.
Travel:
Up to 40%, including overnight
Pay:
$70,000 to $80,000 per year Reports to: Regional Vice President About the role LaborMAX Staffing puts general and skilled labor to work every day. Our Central Region runs about 26 branches across 15 states. We need one person to own compliance across all of them. You audit branches, find the gaps, train the teams, and confirm the fix held. You work from home, travel to branches, and report straight to the RVP. What you will do Run routine and targeted branch audits against company policy, wage and hour law, and required postings. Own I-9 and E-Verify accuracy. Review I-9 files and confirm every new hire is processed on time.
Audit prevailing wage payroll:
wage classifications, fringe calculations, and certified payroll submissions. Monitor state paid sick leave for correct payroll coding and hours used against annual limits. Investigate compliance concerns, document findings, and recommend the fix. Follow up on corrective actions until they are closed and verified. Train branch staff on policies, procedures, and regulatory changes, in person and online. Track regulatory changes across the region and help update branch practices. Report KPIs, audit findings, and trends to regional leadership. Check branch recordkeeping, data privacy, and document retention. Support new branch openings, leadership changes, and new program rollouts. Partner with HR, Safety, and Operations so every branch gets the same answer. What you bring Working knowledge of compliance, internal controls, and audit practices. Hands-on experience with I-9, E-Verify, wage and hour, or prevailing wage. Multi-state experience preferred. Ability to read policy and regulation and turn it into clear direction for a branch team. Clear, concise report writing and strong attention to detail. Confidence leading training and presenting findings to staff and leadership. Discretion with confidential information. Ability to manage multiple audits and deadlines with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the region. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Business, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience. Physical requirements Sit and work at a computer for extended periods. Stand, walk, and move through branch and job site environments. Lift or move 20 to 50 lbs as needed. Travel regularly within the region, including overnight stays.
