Job Description
NST Injury Attorneys is seeking an experienced Part-Time Human Resources Generalist to manage and support the firm's day-to-day human resources functions. This role is designed for an HR professional who can do more than administer processes. We are looking for someone with the experience and judgment to advise managers, address employee-relations issues, develop and interpret HR policies, and make appropriate day-to-day HR decisions, while recognizing when significant matters should be escalated to firm leadership. Key Responsibilities Employee Relations & Management Support Serve as a resource to managers on employee performance, attendance, conduct, and other workplace issues. Guide managers through coaching, corrective action, discipline, and termination processes. Review situations, recommend appropriate action, and ensure decisions are handled consistently and appropriately. Prepare disciplinary documentation, performance improvement plans, and other employee-relations documentation. Participate in employee meetings, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations as appropriate. HR Policy & Compliance Draft, review, and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook provisions. Interpret existing policies and provide guidance to managers and employees. Help ensure HR practices remain consistent with applicable employment laws and firm policies. Identify HR processes or policies that need improvement and recommend solutions. Recruiting, Hiring & Onboarding Coordinate recruiting activities, including job postings, applicant review, interview scheduling, and candidate communication. Assist managers in evaluating candidates and making hiring decisions. Prepare offer letters and coordinate pre-employment requirements. Manage new-hire documentation and HR onboarding processes. HR Administration & Segue Serve as the primary administrator for Segue, the firm's HR database, ensuring employee information and documentation remain accurate and current. Maintain personnel files and required employment documentation. Process employee changes involving compensation, position, supervisor, status, and other employment information. Maintain HR forms, templates, records, and reporting. Coordinate administrative requirements associated with employee separations and offboarding. What We're Looking For 3-5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in an HR Generalist or similar role. Hands-on experience with employee relations, discipline, performance management, and terminations. Experience drafting or administering HR policies and procedures. Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices. Experience with an HRIS or employee database strongly preferred. Strong judgment and the ability to independently address routine HR matters while recognizing when escalation is appropriate. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential or sensitive matters. Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred but not required. SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification is a plus but not required. Schedule & Work Arrangement This is a salaried, non-exempt, part-time position scheduled for 20 hours per week and is not benefits eligible. The position offers a flexible schedule and the possibility of hybrid work. Candidates should be located in or near Memphis or Jackson, Tennessee and available to work onsite at either location when needed for employee meetings, interviews, onboarding, or other HR matters. Hybrid schedule may be considered for the right candidate. This position is ideal for an experienced HR professional with meaningful ownership and decision-making responsibility who wants a flexible, part-time role.
