Job Description

Position Summary MPW Industrial Services and Porta Kleen are seeking an experienced Labor Relations Strategic Partner to provide part-time, as-needed expertise and support to Human Resources and operational leadership. This role will primarily focus on proactive employee and labor relations strategies. The Strategic Partner will serve as a subject-matter expert, advisor, trainer, and resource to HR and operational leaders. This position will complement—not replace—the responsibilities of the company's existing Labor Relations Manager, who manages ongoing union HR and labor relations activities. The position will support MPW and Porta Kleen's overall labor strategy. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic guidance on positive employee relations Identify potential labor-relations risks and recommend proactive actions to strengthen the employee experience. Conduct labor and employee relations assessments Develop and facilitate labor relations training for supervisors, managers, HR professionals, and operational leaders . Coach leaders on effective employee communication, supervisor effectiveness, workplace concerns, and early intervention. Help leadership identify workplace practices that may negatively impact employee engagement, retention, productivity, or labor relations. Recommend practical strategies to improve workplace productivity, communication, employee-management relationships, and leadership effectiveness . Provide subject-matter expertise when union organizing is identified. When requested, provide strategic guidance related to union-management cooperation and labor relations strategy at union operations, in partnership with the Labor Relations Manager. Assist HR and leadership in maintaining labor practices consistent with the company's overall union strategy. Partner appropriately with Human Resources, Legal, the Labor Relations Manager, and business leadership on significant labor-relations matters. Qualifications Significant professional experience in labor relations, employee relations, or related HR leadership . Strong knowledge of U.S. labor relations practices and applicable labor law. Demonstrated experience training and coaching frontline supervisors and operational leaders. Experience assessing workplace culture and identifying potential employee/labor relations risks. Ability to provide practical, business-focused recommendations to senior leadership. Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills. Experience working in industrial services, manufacturing, construction, field services, or similar environments preferred. Position Structure Part-time, as-needed strategic role. Hours will vary based on business needs, training schedules, assessments, and labor-relations activity. May require travel to MPW and Porta Kleen locations. Works closely with Human Resources, the Labor Relations Manager, Legal, and operational leadership. This position is intended to provide specialized strategic expertise, training, assessment, and advisory support rather than day-to-day labor relations administration .
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
