Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll and HR Specialist to oversee payroll processing and support human resources functions. The ideal candidate will manage payroll systems, ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, handle confidential information with discretion, and support HR processes for a high-volume workforce. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll management, time & attendance systems, and HR procedures to ensure accurate and timely compensation for employees. Duties Process payroll accurately and efficiently for a high-volume workforce, including hourly, seasonal, and salaried employees. Manage payroll systems and provide technical support to ensure smooth operation. Maintain and support HR systems related to employee records, onboarding, and offboarding processes. Handle confidential information with absolute discretion, including payroll data, employee records, and sensitive HR information. Administer time & attendance systems to ensure accurate tracking of hours worked and leave balances. Process new hires, terminations, pay changes, garnishments, and other payroll adjustments in compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Ensure compliance with federal and state wage & hour laws, garnishments, payroll tax filings, and other relevant labor regulations. Support payroll management tasks such as audits, reporting, and reconciliation. Collaborate with HR team members to support employee relations initiatives and HR programs. Stay current on employment law changes affecting payroll processing and HR practices. Qualifications Minimum of three years of experience in payroll processing and general HR functions. Experience working with payroll systems; experience with PayChex is preferred. Proven ability to process high-volume payroll for organizations with 160+ employees or similar scale. Strong knowledge of federal and state wage & hour laws, garnishments, and payroll tax filings. Experience managing payroll for a high-turnover hourly or seasonal workforce is highly desirable. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly. Familiarity with timekeeping systems and HRIS platforms. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
