Community Living of Rhode Island (CLRI) is seeking a dedicated and organized Human Resources Specialist to join our Human Resources team. The Human Resources Specialist will support a variety of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, personnel records, compliance, and day-to-day HR operations. Key Responsibilities Support the recruitment and hiring process, including posting job openings, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates. Assist with new employee onboarding, orientation, and required employment paperwork. Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel records. Assist with employment verifications, background checks, reference checks, and other pre-employment requirements. Respond to employee questions and provide guidance regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and employment-related matters. Assist with employee relations concerns and escalate issues to the Director of Human Resources when appropriate. Track employee certifications, training requirements, licenses, and other required documentation. Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws and agency policies. Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and other documentation as needed. Assist with performance evaluations, disciplinary documentation, and other employee-related processes. Support employee engagement, recognition, and agency-wide HR initiatives. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and organizational information. Collaborate with managers and supervisors regarding staffing, employee performance, attendance, and HR-related matters. Assist with maintaining accurate employee information within HR systems and databases. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, job fairs, recruitment events, and other agency activities. Perform other HR-related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Psychology, or a related field. Previous experience in Human Resources or a related administrative role preferred. Knowledge of HR practices, employment procedures, and applicable employment regulations preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate professionally with employees, managers, applicants, and external contacts. Must be able to pass required background checks and meet all agency and regulatory requirements.
