Job Summary We are seeking a versatile HR Generalist / HR Project Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity in Cayce, SC. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys variety, adapts well to change, and thrives in a project-driven environment. You'll have the opportunity to support a team during an exciting period of organizational growth and transformation. Working closely with leadership, managers, and employees, you'll contribute across multiple HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, compensation, and special projects. There is also potential for long-term career growth, including the possibility of permanent placement. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level HR generalist support across multiple HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee records, and special projects.
  • Support full-cycle recruitment activities, including job posting development, applicant screening, candidate referrals, hiring documentation, and manager communication.
  • Assist with I-9 and E-Verify compliance projects by reviewing documentation, identifying discrepancies, communicating with employees, and supporting audit-related work.
  • Review, revise, and update position descriptions by gathering information from supervisors, interpreting job duties, and ensuring documentation is accurate and compliant.
  • Support classification and compensation projects by organizing position information, reviewing job duties, researching HR guidelines, and assisting HR leadership.
  • Manage multiple time-sensitive HR projects while tracking progress, following up with stakeholders, maintaining confidentiality, and adapting to changing priorities. Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay:
    $29.07 per hour.
  • Schedule:
    Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Location:
    Cayce, SC.
  • Potential opportunity to transition to a permanent role. Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant Human Resources experience, with broad HR exposure strongly preferred.
  • Experience in HR generalist support, HR coordination, recruiting, onboarding, employee records, compliance, or HR operations.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, documentation standards, and employment-related requirements.
  • Prior hands-on experience with I-9 documentation and E-Verify processes is strongly preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills, especially Excel and Word.
  • Adobe Acrobat proficiency required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, supervisors, managers, and HR team members.
  • Strong organizational, project management, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy in complex documentation.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable supporting changing priorities in a fast-paced HR environment. Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or similar.
  • Previous experience as an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, HR Specialist, Recruiter, HR Manager, Assistant HR Manager, Assistant HR Director, or similar HR role.
  • Experience supporting classification and compensation projects.
  • Experience writing, revising, or maintaining position descriptions.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws and HR best practices.
