Position Overview:
The Senior Human Resources Generalist serves as a key member of the HR team as a strategic and operational HR partner, providing comprehensive support across multiple functional areas, including leave administration, employee relations, compliance governance, and tactical HR operations. This role requires a highly collaborative, adaptable professional who can effectively manage competing priorities while supporting both employees and leadership in a corporate environment. This role also assists with leadership to ensure employment actions are consistent, legally compliant, and aligned with company policy and labor law.Essential Job Functions:
Administer and manage all aspects of employee leave programs, includingFMLA, ADA
accommodations, and other federal and state leave requirements. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and maintain accurate documentation across multiple states to include California. Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management by addressing workplace concerns, conducting investigations, and supporting conflict resolution in alignment with company policies and best practices, partnering with the HR Manager in identifying and understanding best practices. Coordinate and respond to unemployment claims, including documentation and representation as needed. Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as external audits. Serve as a backup when needed to support and to guide other HR team members, management, and staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; will be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodation, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and processing terminations. Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS system, including data entry for new hires utilizing the proper account allocations. Ensure data integrity and confidentiality at all times. Assist with various HR initiatives and administrative tasks as needed, contributing to process improvements and overall team efficiency. Actively support, participate in, and represent the HR department in employee engagement initiatives, driving programs that enhance organizational culture, strengthen employee experience, and promote workforce engagement and retention. Partner effectively with cross-functional teams and demonstrate a willingness to support broader HR and organizational needs in a fast-paced corporate environment. Work as a team player and be able to assist in any area of Human Resources without issue as organizational priorities change. Conduct all business in a highly ethical manner, exhibiting behavior, practices and standards that uphold IMC core values. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.Job Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred. Progressive HR experience, including leave administration, compliance and employee relations. Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and employment law, with hands-on experience evaluating and certifying FMLA documentation, facilitating the ADA interactive process, partnering with employees to gather required information and ensure timely follow-up, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records within the HRIS system. Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across multiple U.S. states, with the ability to interpret requirements and ensure consistent, compliant HR practices across jurisdictions. Experience handling unemployment claims and external audits. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information. Team-oriented, cooperative, and adaptable with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Demonstrated experience as an HR professional with the ability to pivot and to assist as needed.Other Skills/Abilities:
