Job Description

Human Resources Generalist A confidential employer is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to represent the HR Team as the primary HR resource for employees at a construction project site. This person will collaborate closely with the project leadership team to ensure people practices are aligned with business objectives. This position will provide tactical HR support that enhances organizational culture, boosts performance, and supports business success through people-focused initiatives. Key functions include HR partnership, talent management, employee relations, talent development, compliance, and performance management. This role reports in person full-time to the project in Amarillo, TX. Responsibilities Partner with key stakeholders and teams including HR, Benefits, Payroll, Legal, IT, Project Management, and Leadership to ensure an efficient, clearly communicated, and positive employee experience at the project site. Serve as the primary HR resource for employment and labor law questions associated with the state and project location. Serve as a resource to onsite leaders and support personnel. Manage HR programs impacting the full employee lifecycle at the job site for both corporate and union craft workforce. Work with in-house counsel to ensure the project complies with federal, state, and local labor regulations, including wage regulations and equal employment opportunity laws. Partner with leaders at the assigned location to understand business strategy and project requirements. Evaluate and anticipate human resources-related needs at the project site and recommend solutions or actions. Support managers in identifying recruiting needs based on staffing plans and partner with Talent Management and Talent Development teams as needed. Provide employee development and performance management guidance to employees and managers. Advise employees and managers on employee relations issues, policies, practices, and HR initiatives. Investigate, assess, and recommend resolutions to employee relations issues in collaboration with in-house counsel. Analyze, manage, and track key employee relations data to identify trends and develop proactive solutions. Contribute to HR projects and ad hoc cross-functional initiatives. Support efforts to foster a positive workplace culture where employees can achieve their goals and develop their skill sets. Qualifications We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. Professional Experience and Education Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Business Management, Communications, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources or People Operations experience required. Strong knowledge of labor laws, especially those related to field operations and construction labor. Knowledge of union labor employment issues. Proven ability to influence and build trust with both frontline workers and senior leaders. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong relationships, communicate effectively at all levels, think analytically, and maintain confidentiality. Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams. Position-Related Skills Knowledge of Texas labor laws. Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems such as Oracle HCM, Workday, or similar. Experience working with a union labor workforce. Bilingual English/Spanish. Physical and Mental Requirements Workday includes a combination of standing, walking, and sitting. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites. Must be able to climb stairs and safely access various areas of an active construction site, including ladders, scaffolding, confined spaces, or underground areas when necessary. Regularly operates a computer and other office equipment. Must be able to work in proximity to loud equipment and wear appropriate hearing protection when necessary. Must be able to communicate policies, regulations, procedures, and other job-related information effectively in English. Must have the ability to lift or manipulate up to 50 pounds and carry or move materials when required. Frequent bending and twisting may be required. Must be able to kneel, crouch, or crawl when necessary to access or examine areas of the project site. Must be able to physically access required areas and levels of the construction site. Work schedule must be flexible to accommodate changing project schedules, including extended hours or off-shift work when necessary. Must use independent judgment, organizational skills, and critical thinking to determine appropriate solutions and accomplish desired results.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
