Position Summary Odyssey Charter School is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and service-oriented Senior Human Resources Specialist to support a high-performing, diverse workforce and a healthy, safe, and productive work environment. This position supports key HR functions, serves as a trusted resource for employees and leaders, and helps ensure HR processes are responsive, efficient, and compliant. Key Responsibilities Coordinate recruitment, hiring, onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding meeting all required deadlines. Monitor employee licensure, certification, clearances, and other compliance requirements in accordance with School and State policy and regulations. Support VP HR with employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management, and corrective-action processes as required. Accurately and efficiently assist employees with benefits, leave, accommodations, workers' compensation, and general HR questions. Maintain accurate, confidential personnel records and HR tracking systems. Interpret and apply employment laws, policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements. Prepare HR communications, reports, training materials, and compliance updates. Lead or support HR projects and recommend improvements to processes, systems, and service delivery. Build positive working relationships with employees, school leaders, union representatives, and external partners. Provide guidance and operational support to other HR team members as needed. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, education, or a related field. At least five years of progressively responsible human resources experience. Experience managing multiple HR functions with a high level of confidentiality and independence. Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of employment laws, HR practices, and electronic HR systems. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications HR experience in a public school, charter school, school district, government agency, or similarly regulated environment. Knowledge of Delaware educator licensure and certification requirements. Experience working with collective bargaining agreements and represented employees. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or another recognized HR certification.
