— Human Resources Generalist Skagit County Surimi / Seafood Processing Manufacturing Full-Time | On-Site Join a Fast-Paced Food Manufacturing Team We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Human Resources Generalist to support daily HR operations within a dynamic seafood processing and food manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys working directly with employees and supervisors while helping drive compliance, engagement, staffing, and operational support across the facility. The HR Generalist plays a key role in maintaining a productive, compliant, and positive workplace culture while supporting multiple departments including production, warehouse, quality assurance, maintenance, sanitation, and office operations. What You'll Do Recruiting & Staffing Recruit, interview, and onboard production, warehouse, sanitation, QA, maintenance, and office employees Coordinate job postings, applicant tracking, orientations, and hiring paperwork Support workforce planning and staffing coverage across shifts Assist with temporary staffing coordination as needed Employee Relations Support supervisors with coaching, attendance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution Assist with investigations and corrective action documentation Promote employee engagement and positive workplace culture Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all employee matters Compliance & Safety Help ensure compliance with Washington State and Federal labor laws Support OSHA, L&I, workers' compensation, EDS, and workplace injury management Maintain accurate employee records and audit-ready documentation Assist with employee handbook updates and HR policy administration Payroll & Benefits Review timecards, overtime, attendance records, and payroll corrections Support employee benefits enrollment and leave administration Coordinate FMLA, PFML, and protected leave requests Partner with payroll and finance teams to resolve pay-related concerns Training & Retention Coordinate onboarding and employee training programs Support retention initiatives and employee recognition programs Assist with multilingual communication and workforce support Help strengthen plant culture and employee engagement efforts Qualifications Required ✔ 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing, food processing, or industrial environments ✔ Knowledge of Washington State and Federal employment laws ✔ Strong communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills ✔ Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism ✔ Experience with Microsoft Office and payroll/ERP systems Preferred Bilingual (Spanish or other workforce languages) Experience in FDA-regulated or food manufacturing environments SHRM-CP, PHR, or related HR certification Experience with workers' compensation and safety programs Work Environment Combination of office and production floor responsibilities Exposure to cold storage, wet areas, PPE requirements, and food manufacturing conditions Must be comfortable walking the facility regularly and supporting multiple shifts when needed What We're Looking For We are looking for a proactive, dependable, and business-oriented HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
