Job Description Boyter Brothers is seeking a high-level, hands-on Human Resources Generalist to support and manage core HR functions. This role requires strong working knowledge of employment law and compliance across multiple states in the western United States, including FMLA and workers' compensation. This is an independent HR position that requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to work independently while supporting employees and leadership in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. The HR Generalist will serve as the primary HR contact for employee relations, legal matters, and compliance oversight, while also handling day-to-day HR operations. Duties/Responsibilities Maintain accurate employee files. Serve as the first point of contact for employee concerns, conflicts and policy questions. Support supervisors in disciplinary and termination matters. Oversee and maintain onboarding processes and materials for consistency and engagement. Support and standardize performance appraisal processes and improvement plans. Maintain a proactive recruiting pipeline of pre-qualified candidates for key roles. Manage full-cycle recruitment including posting, screening, and coordinating offers for both exempt and non-exempt roles. Maintain deep knowledge of labor laws in multiple states. Administer benefits programs with support from brokers. Serve as liaison with employees, benefit brokers, and carriers for benefit issues. Draft, revise, and update company policies and employee handbook content. Support internal and external audits. Assist in preparing compliance reports. Oversee safety programs including quarterly meetings, incentives, and training. Required Skills/Abilities Valid driver's license and ability to travel periodically. Strong working knowledge of OR, WA, ID, and UT labor, leave, and compliance laws. Proficient in Microsoft Office products. Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Accountability and attention to detail Growth mindset and proactive approach to learning and problem solving Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in related field 3+ years of employee relations, HR generalist, or HR manager-level experience Union employer preferred Construction industry preferred Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Physically be able to lift 25lbs at times. BENEFITS
$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year 8 paid holidays, 10 PTO/vacation days per year 100% company paid, Medical and Dental monthly premiums for individual + dependents. Company paid Life Insurance, AD&D, and Long-Term Disability insurance. Simple-IRA company match up to 3% of employee contributions.
