Job Description

Van Horn Automotive Group has an excellent opportunity for a Human Resource Generalist II to support our Milwaukee-area dealerships! We are looking for a strong HR professional who enjoys coaching leaders, solving problems, recruiting great people, and building positive workplace relationships. This role will support all 3 of our Milwaukee dealership locations, providing hands-on HR support while partnering with dealership leadership and the centralized HR team. The position will have a home-base office at one dealership and regularly rotate between all three locations based on business needs. Your Responsibilities Serve as the primary HR resource and partner for the three Milwaukee-area dealerships. Coach managers on performance management, employee relations, attendance, employee development, and HR policies. Assist with employee relations concerns, investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary guidance. Provide guidance on employment law and HR compliance. Serve as the designated recruiter for the three dealerships, managing job postings, sourcing, phone screens, interviews, and candidate communication. Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and attract qualified candidates. Assist with job fairs, recruiting events, New Hire Orientation, and employee engagement activities. Manage I-9 processes and audits and assist with HRIS transactions, organizational charts, job descriptions, transfers, and other HR processes. Partner with the centralized HR team on HR programs and initiatives. What We're Looking For High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred. Prior HR experience with knowledge of employee relations, recruitment, and employment law. Strong coaching, communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and exercise sound judgment. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
HRIS/ADP
experience is a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish skills strongly preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to regularly travel between the three Milwaukee-area dealerships. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee matters. Schedule Monday - Friday. Some Saturdays may be required based on business needs. Why Work at Van Horn?
