Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Multi-National Manufacturing Company is seeking a Jr. Human Resources Generalist with 1-2 years of experience for a position at our manufacturing facility in Apple Grove, WV.
  • Applicants MUST be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship. We do not sponsor work visas.
  • This is an in-person position only.
  • The Human Resources Generalist supports a broad range of day-to-day human resources functions, including recruiting and staffing, onboarding, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, labor relations, HRIS administration, reporting and compliance, and records management.
The ideal candidate will be an early-career HR professional who is organized, approachable, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and able to maintain confidentiality while working effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment & Staffing Assist with recruitment and selection activities for hourly, professional, and management positions, such as job postings, testing, interviewing, and pre-employment screening requirements. Maintain accurate applicant and recruitment records. Assist with recruiting events, job fairs, and relationships with schools and workforce-development organizations. New Hire Orientation & Onboarding Coordinate and assist with new employee orientation and onboarding. Ensure new hire paperwork and onboarding requirement (i.e. training, badging, system access, etc.) are completed accurately and timely. Follow up with new employees and supervisors to support successful integration into the organization. Employee Relations Serve as an initial HR resource for employees and supervisors regarding workplace questions and concerns. Assist the HR Manager with employee relations matters, investigations, and documentation. Maintain appropriate documentation relating to attendance, performance, disciplinary actions, and other employee matters. Benefits Administration Assist employees with questions regarding company benefit programs. Assist with new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, benefit changes, and annual open enrollment. Maintain accurate benefit records, reviewing monthly invoicing, and coordinate with benefit providers as necessary. HRIS & Personnel Records Assist with the administration of bi-weekly payroll in ADP Workforce Now Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files in the HRIS. Process employee status changes, transfers, promotions, job changes, and terminations. Generate HR reports and assist with HR data analysis. Training & Development Coordinate and assist with employee training programs. Assist with orientation, compliance, safety, leadership, and employee development programs. Compliance Assist with administration of applicable federal and state employment requirements. Assist with
FMLA, ADA
accommodations, workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and other employment-related programs. Help ensure company policies and practices, as well as union contract are interpreted and administered consistently. Employee Engagement & Retention Assist with employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and retention initiatives. Create monthly company-wide newsletter for distribution. Coordinate employee events and recognition activities. General HR Support Assist the HR Manager with special projects and organizational initiatives. Provide backup support for other HR functions as needed. Maintain current knowledge of HR practices and employment regulations. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. Experience 1-2 years of Human Resources experience. HR internship or co-op experience may be considered in combination with education. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of fundamental HR principles and practices. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organization and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees at all levels. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Ability to learn and effectively utilize HRIS and other HR technology. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional, approachable, and service-oriented demeanor. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualifications are preferred but not required: Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or other fast-paced operations. Experience supporting an hourly workforce and/or employees across multiple shifts. Experience with employee relations, investigations, attendance, or disciplinary processes. Familiarity with the FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and other employment-related requirements. Experience with unionized employees or collective bargaining agreements. Experience assisting with CBA administration, grievance processes, or labor-management relations. Experience recruiting production, maintenance, or other manufacturing positions. Experience working with an HRIS, or specifically ADP Workforce Now. PHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR certification, or demonstrated progress toward certification.
Pay:
From $50,000.00 per year
