We invite you to become part of Connecticut's most comprehensive healthcare network as a Central Staffing Specialist. The Greater Manchester Region has approximately 2,500 employees. It includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 249-bed community hospital, Rockville General, a campus of Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 102-bed facility, a large multispecialty provider group and visiting nurse services. The Greater Manchester Region serves a region of 300,000 people in 19 towns. Assist Staffing Coordinator in scheduling department staff by generating and updating schedules while making adjustments as needed according to budgetary constraints, census fluctuations, call-ins, and pre-planned leaves of absence. Responsible for reviewing employee requests and reconciling department timecards for payroll processing.
COMPETENCIES
Strong communication skills, written and verbal, are required to effectively communicate with department leaders and clinical staff. A solid customer service acumen and interpersonal skill is essential to successfully fulfill the service element required of this position. Basic knowledge of staffing plans in clinical areas. Exhibits critical thinking skills specific to urgent and operational situations in high stress and face paced environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and to manage projects from initiation to completion within prescribed schedules and utilization of resources. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Partners with Staffing Coordinator to align staffing operations with organizational staffing expectations and goals. 2. Ability to cover for Central Staffing Specialist and complete daily Staffing Office tasks when necessary. 3. Utilizes computer software to prepare, change and update the clinical schedules. 4. Ensures nursing units are staffed utilizing the applicable templates. 5. Reconciles schedules to be final in staffing and scheduling system by due date. 6. In collaboration with manager, approves/denies scheduling and time off requests. 7. Reconciles timecards by managing missed punches, unexcused absences, unscheduled shifts, etc. with support from the Central Staffing Specialist. Qualifications - External
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
High School Diploma required, Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3-5 years in Hospital Staffing or other related office experience. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
