Excel Restoration is a fast-growing restoration company specializing in water, fire, and mold mitigation, along with full-service reconstruction. As we continue to scale across our Elk Grove Village, IL and West Allis, WI locations, we are looking for a driven Recruiter to help us attract, screen, and hire the talent that fuels our growth.
Position Summary:
The Recruiter will own full-cycle recruiting across all departments, with a heavy focus on sourcing, screening, interviewing, and coordinating hires for both field and office roles. This person will work closely with the HR Manager and department leaders to build a strong, steady pipeline of candidates and ensure a smooth, professional experience from first contact through onboarding handoff.
Responsibilities:
Job Posting & Sourcing Write, post, and refresh job ads across job boards. Actively source passive candidates through LinkedIn, databases, referrals, and local networks Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for high-turnover and hard-to-fill roles (technicians, plumbers, carpenters, PMs, estimators, office staff) Track applicant flow and ensure postings stay competitive and accurate Screening & Interviewing Review incoming applications and resumes daily Conduct phone screens to assess fit, experience, availability, and compensation expectations Schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring managers across both Elk Grove Village and West Allis locations Conduct in-person and virtual interviews; prepare structured interview notes for hiring managers Run reference checks, background checks, and pre-employment screenings Hiring Coordination Partner with department leaders (Operations, Reconstruction, Sales, Admin) to understand hiring needs and role requirements Keep hiring managers updated on candidate status and pipeline health Prepare and send offer letters in coordination with the HR Manager Coordinate start dates, paperwork, and handoff to onboarding Candidate Experience Serve as the main point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring process Respond to applicants in a timely, professional manner — even when declining Represent Excel Restoration's brand and culture at every touchpoint Attend job fairs, trade school events, and local hiring events as needed Recruiting Operations & Reporting Maintain accurate, organized records in the ATS/HRIS and hiring trackers Track recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, source effectiveness, offer acceptance rate, etc.) Identify trends and recommend improvements to sourcing strategy and job ads Continuously improve screening criteria and interview questions based on hiring outcomes Compliance Ensure recruiting practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws (EEO, ban-the-box, pay transparency, etc.) Maintain proper documentation for all candidates and hires Support EEO-1 reporting and other compliance needs in partnership with the
HR Manager Qualifications:
2+ years of recruiting experience (construction, restoration, trades, or field service industry strongly preferred) Proven track record sourcing and hiring for both field and office roles Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls and screens Strong interviewing skills with the ability to assess both technical fit and culture fit Familiarity with job boards, LinkedIn Recruiter, and applicant tracking systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly organized with strong follow-through and attention to detail Ability to handle sensitive candidate information with professionalism and confidentiality Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
