Osawatomie State Hospital is licensed by the State of Kansas to provide care and treatment for adults diagnosed with psychiatric disorders regardless of ability to pay. There are currently two hospitals on the Osawatomie campus in Miami county: Osawatomie State Hospital (OSH) and Adair Acute Care (AAC). Adair Acute Care are a 60-bed facility, certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
All employees are expected to work in a harmonious and cooperative fashion with other staff to provide efficient and effective customer service: to use free time as available to assist other staff in the completion of work assignments and perform other tasks as needed; to contribute to a positive work environment through a positive, helpful, courteous demeanor towards staff, customers and the general public; and to adhere to appropriate standards of conduct regarding the use of leave, reports to work on time and in the designated fashion. The purpose of the Recruitment Specialist is to provide recruitment to OSH and AAC at OSH in the day-to-day activities of the hospital. Serves as the back-up HR contact for internal and external customers for customer service queries. The incumbent of this position receives general direction from the Human Resources Director and is expected to establish plans, develop methods and schedules for completion of the work within the guidelines established by state and federal statutes and regulations, agency policies and procedures.
The essential functions of this position may require physical strength to frequently push, pull, twist, bend, squat, walk, stand for extended periods of time, lift and/or restrain residents with or without assistance and respond to aggressive resident behavior with specific, trained techniques. Be able to observe and respond to residents in distress. Osawatomie State Hospital Adair Acute Care is funded in part by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and is subject to requirements bestowed by Federal and State levels of government conditions of participation. Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The purpose of the Recruitment Specialist is to provide recruitment to OSH and AAC at OSH in the day-to-day activities of the hospital. Serves as the back-up HR contact for internal and external customers for customer service queries. The incumbent of this position receives general direction from the Human Resources Director and is expected to establish plans, develop methods and schedules for completion of the work within the guidelines established by state and federal statutes and regulations, agency policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Reviews recruitment paperwork submitted by supervisors to verify complete and accurate information is received, fair and equitable consideration of all applicants is made, and the recruitment process has been applied to maximize recruitment potential from the most qualified candidates for vacant positions.
Responsible for setting up interview appointments, collecting and contacting references, analyzing turnover data, vacancy rates, disciplinary data, FTE/OT reports, and customer complaints to develop new techniques to ensure employee retention.
Serves as the EEO Coordinator.
Manages position files and reviews position descriptions for classified and unclassified positions at OSH. Compiles periodic reports to the OSH Superintendent and KDADS on the status of each vacant position to assist in budgeting and planning. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Two years of experience in general office, clerical, and administrative support work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Work requires well-developed communication skills and extreme accuracy.
Customer service oriented.
Human Resources experience.
Recruitment experience.
Strong organizational and computer skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to take assigned projects and complete with minimal assistance.
Experience/Knowledge with State of Kansas Personnel Regulation, SHARP, and HR processes.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:
Pass a background check/fingerprint check conducted by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI). The incumbent in this position must maintain absolute confidentiality of information in personnel and other related files.
