Staffing Specialist Location:
Onsite in
Smithtown, NY Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8AM-4PM Position Summary The Staffing Specialist is responsible for staffing both in-district and home-based services in the areas of behavior intervention, special education, and therapy services with well-qualified, credentialed providers in a timely manner. This role plays a critical part in ensuring students receive consistent, high-quality services by maintaining a strong sense of urgency, exceptional attention to detail, and a high standard of work quality. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Staff in-district school-based and home-based Behavior Intervention Services, Education and Speech, as well as OT/PT therapy cases in accordance with service timelines and individualized education plans Match provider credentials, licensure, experience, availability, and geographic location to student and district needs Maintain real-time awareness of open cases and prioritize staffing based on urgency, compliance requirements, and service start dates Build and maintain professional relationships with qualified providers (e.g., SLPs, OTs, PTs, School Psychologists, Special Education Teachers, BCBAs, Behavior Intervention Specialist, Social Workers, and Parent Trainers) Accurately document staffing activity, provider communications, and placement status in the Blue Sea Operating System (BOS) Proactively identify staffing barriers and escalate risks that may impact service delivery Support retention efforts by maintaining positive provider engagement and addressing placement concerns promptly Recruiting lead and idea generation through social media activity and monitoring Required Skills & Competencies Strong sense of urgency with the ability to manage high-volume caseloads Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, particularly related to credentials and compliance Strong organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills Clear, professional written and verbal communication Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Commitment to quality, accountability, and student-centered outcomes
Preferred:
Experience working in a school or agency setting Experience with behavior intervention services or related services

$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
