Description Location:
Erie County- Individual must live in and will frequently travel throughout their coverage area
- Seasonal position with heavy recruitment occurring between August-October, and March-May
- Individual must attend in-person recruitment training in July, and complete all trainings
- Part-time up to 20 hours per week
- Pay rate is $20.50 per hour
- Individual must be able to work evening and weekend events, or daytime and weekend events.
Position Description:
Help us recruit girls and families to join Girl Scouts! As a Member Recruitment Specialist, you will implement effective marketing and recruiting strategies to generate excitement about and increase awareness of Girl Scouting within your community. You will work to build visibility of Girl Scouts and promote the Girl Scout experience to generate leads and support membership growth. The essential functions of this position include the following:- Promote the Girl Scout mission by hosting recruitment events including in-person meetings and presentations, back-to-school and troop sign-up nights, and networking opportunities
- Serve as primary on-site host for in-school and evening registration events designed to introduce Girl Scouting to potential new girls, volunteers, and families
- Clearly communicate to potential members the Girl Scout mission including the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and the benefits of being a member of Girl Scouts
- Work collaboratively with volunteer recruiters and staff to fulfill goals for each event
- Assist with and perform registration for new members
- Record event attendance and results
- Ensure Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults
Requirements:
- Girl Scouts knowledge and/or experience preferred, but not required
- Comfortable speaking to large groups
- Have reliable transportation
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned area
- Willing to work primarily evenings and weekend hours, or daytime and weekend hours - some flexibility to work with your schedule
- Some experience in marketing or sales, nonprofit, education, or a related field of work is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, and Excel required
- Experience with Apple products is preferred Clearances are required
