We service the upstate of South Carolina, Northeast Georgia and Western North Carolina. The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for developing and executing recruitment strategies to attract, evaluate, and hire top talent across all levels of the organization. This role plays a critical part in supporting the General Contracting Division growth by ensuring a strong pipeline of qualified candidates aligned with project demands, safety standards, and company culture.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Partner with executive leadership, project managers, and department heads to forecast hiring needs based on project pipelines and business growth. Develop and execute strategic recruitment plans aligned with general construction industry demands and workforce needs. Build and maintain proactive talent pipelines for high-demand and project-based construction roles. Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for all GC Division roles, including job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, reference check, and onboarding coordination. Maintain accurate candidate records by advancing applicants through each stage of the ATS, while proactively communicating application status and next steps to ensure a positive candidate experience. Utilize diverse sourcing strategies, including job boards, schools, referrals, and industry/community networks, while actively engaging and building relationships with prospective candidates. Proactively source passive candidates through networking, industry events, and digital platforms. Develop and maintain partnerships with local schools, workforce development organizations, and construction industry leaders. Strengthen and promote the company's employer brand to attract high-quality candidates in a competitive labor market. Conduct initial candidate screenings and coordinate interviews with hiring managers. Evaluate candidates for technical competency, cultural fit, and alignment with safety standards and reliability expectations. Support hiring managers through structured interview processes and consistent selection criteria. Partner with Marketing to support recruitment campaigns that highlight company culture, career growth, and project impact. Serve as a visible GC Division ambassador by attending job fairs, school career days, industry events, and community outreach efforts. Ensure all hiring practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Track, analyze, and report on recruitment metrics to drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with HR and operations teams to ensure smooth and effective onboarding experience.Skills and Qualifications:
5+ years of talent acquisition experience, preferably within construction or engineering, with a focus on recruiting project leadership roles (Assistant Superintendent level and above) Strong understanding of construction roles, terminology, and labor market dynamics. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple requisitions in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), spreadsheets, and HRIS platforms. Knowledge of South Carolina and Federal employment law and hiring best practices Strong organizational and problem-solving skillsBenefits:
