Great Lakes Skilled Trades is looking for a Construction Recruiter to join our team in West Allis, WI. We specialize in connecting skilled tradespeople with commercial construction contractors, helping put qualified workers to work while helping our clients keep their projects moving. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Recruit skilled tradespeople for commercial construction projects throughout the local market Source candidates through online job boards, social media, referrals, our applicant tracking system (ATS), and community networking Review applications, conduct phone interviews, and evaluate candidate qualifications and experience Build relationships with candidates to understand their skills, work history, availability, and career goals Match qualified candidates with job opportunities based on client requirements Coordinate with hiring managers and clients to understand staffing needs and job requirements Guide candidates through the hiring process, including job offers, background checks, drug testing, and onboarding requirements Verify credentials, employment information, and other client-specific requirements Maintain accurate candidate records and ensure timely follow-up throughout the recruiting process Help distribute personal protective equipment (PPE) and coordinate pre-employment requirements Attend occasional career fairs and recruiting events (approximately 5-10% travel) Work collaboratively with the recruiting and sales teams to meet staffing goals and deliver excellent service

Successful candidates will demonstrate:
Strong communication and relationship-building skills Confidence conducting phone conversations and interviewing candidates Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-up The ability to manage multiple open positions and priorities simultaneously Persistence and resourcefulness when searching for qualified candidates Comfort using computers, online job boards, social media, and recruiting software Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Excel A customer-service mindset and a team-oriented attitude The ability to work independently while contributing to shared goals Previous recruiting experience is helpful, but we're also interested in motivated individuals with experience in sales, customer service, account management, or other people-focused roles.
