San Jose - Onsite Position Overview Lumentum is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Director, Talent Acquisition to lead recruiting efforts for several global business units. Based in San Jose and reporting to the VP of Talent Acquisition, this role will serve as a senior talent partner to business leaders and will be responsible for delivering high-impact hiring outcomes across operations, manufacturing, technical, and corporate business functions. This leader will drive global recruiting strategy, build strong partnerships with executive stakeholders, and ensure the delivery of top talent aligned to Lumentum's growth objectives. The Director will lead and develop a team of recruiters while working closely with TA Operations, HR Business Partners, and functional leadership to build a scalable and predictable hiring engine. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen, operational discipline, and deep experience recruiting for complex technical organizations. Key Responsibilities Global Talent Acquisition Leadership Lead recruiting strategy and delivery for multiple global business units across engineering, manufacturing, and corporate functions. Develop and execute hiring plans aligned with business growth strategies and workforce planning. Ensure consistent, high-quality recruiting practices across regions and functions. Provide leadership oversight for a team of recruiters responsible for delivering critical hires. Lead critical initiatives across Talent Attraction. Executive Stakeholder Partnership Serve as the primary talent advisor to senior business leaders and HR partners. Align hiring strategies with product roadmaps, manufacturing scale, and organizational priorities. Provide market insights on talent availability, compensation trends, and competitive landscape. Influence leaders on hiring strategies, role design, and workforce planning decisions. Executive & Critical Role Hiring Lead and support executive-level and highly specialized searches. Ensure a strong candidate experience for senior leadership hiring. Partner with internal stakeholders and external search partners when appropriate. Recruiting Excellence & Delivery Drive strong recruiting outcomes across all KPI's. Establish disciplined recruiting processes, interview frameworks, and hiring manager engagement. Reduce dependency on external agencies through strong internal recruiting capability. Ensure hiring processes align with compliance and company policies. Team Leadership & Capability Building Critical role on the Global TA Leadership team. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of recruiters across multiple geographies. Foster a high-performance recruiting culture centered on accountability, collaboration, and results. Partner with TA Operations to improve recruiter productivity and enable scalable processes. Talent Market Intelligence Monitor talent supply, competitive hiring activity, and emerging skill requirements. Inform leadership on labor market dynamics and potential talent risks. Support strategic initiatives such as early career programs, diversity hiring strategies, and university partnerships. Qualifications Required 18+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition or executive recruiting. 5+ years leading recruiting teams in complex, global organizations. Experience supporting engineering, semiconductor, manufacturing, or advanced technology businesses. Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with senior executives. Strong operational rigor and experience managing high-volume and specialized hiring. Experience putting together quarterly business reviews to deliver results to sr. executives. Experience recruiting globally and managing multi-region hiring strategies. Preferred Experience in semiconductor, optics/photonics, or advanced manufacturing environments. Background recruiting technical leadership roles and engineering talent. Experience scaling recruiting teams during periods of growth. Familiarity with Workday ATS and modern recruiting technologies Experience with AI recruiting tools a plus
Pay Range:
P90-USA-1
:$164,650.00 - $235,200.00
