  • Full-time Hiring Manager Houghton, MI Full-time Job Overview We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Hiring Manager to lead recruiting and onboarding for our family office and its family-owned, growing technology, consulting, and intellectual property companies .
This position is based in our Houghton, Michigan office and requires domestic and international travel . The Hiring Manager will manage two recruiters and oversee hiring efforts across Houghton, Michigan; Jupiter, Florida; Bentonville, Arkansas; Franklin, Tennessee; Dallas, Texas; Reykjavik, Iceland; and Sheffield, England , with future expansion into Australia and Brazil . This role owns the full recruiting, hiring, and onboarding lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be comfortable building talent pipelines through conventions, industry events, college recruiting, and online promotion , while hiring across a wide range of business functions. Responsibilities Manage and develop a team of two recruiters Represent the organizations and family professionally Lead full-cycle recruiting across domestic and international locations Build candidate pipelines through conventions, events, college recruiting, and online sourcing Recruit for a wide variety of roles, especially including marketing, technical, managerial, administration, and secretarial plus mechanical, customer service, food service, facility maintenance, construction, equipment maintenance, logistics, flight operations, fleet operations, and administrative/secretarial positions Oversee recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes from initial outreach through start date plus six months Co-manage new hires through their first six months to support successful onboarding and long-term retention Develop programs and processes that improve hiring outcomes and new-hire success Partner with leaders across multiple businesses to understand hiring needs and workforce priorities Qualifications A Master's Degree in Organization Behavior or similar experience and eduction Experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or staffing leadership Experience managing full-cycle recruiting and onboarding Ability to recruit across diverse functions and geographies Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills including well prepared presentations and updates to family and leadership Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally Excellent with computer applications, AI, and tools Experience managing recruiters or hiring teams preferred Work Location Houghton, Michigan office Domestic and international travel required About the Role This is an opportunity to build and lead recruiting efforts for a dynamic family office and a growing portfolio of family-owned businesses in technology, consulting, and intellectual property.
